Paper cutting machine is utilized to cut of required size such as A4,A3,A1 etc. Microcontroller based system is used to control the total machine. Required size of paper in mm, total number of papers and the allowable tolerance are programmable. AC motor with brake unit is utilized to pull the rolled paper. Paper length is measured through encoder and a cutter activated through piston will cut the paper. If the paper is within tolerance it will be taken for counting and machine stop automatically when required number of papers is reached. System is provided with all type of error indication like paper no feed, cutter error, motor stopped etc.

Microcontroller based speed measuring unit which measures the surface speed of governor system used in the lift. Governor used in the lift will trip the unit if the lift gets down at more than specified speed. The system measures velocity of lift in metre /sec, speed of motor in rpm and check the trip speed at which the governor stops. System will give an alarm if there is any deviation from acceptable tolerance.

Ignition coil is used to generate the spark in order burn the fuel in cars. Ignition coil output is depended on the speed at which the car travels. For every rpm the rate of triggering of ignition coil will vary. This condition is simulated by generating the variable frequency and duty ratio pulses. Pulse output will trigger the ignition coil and provide output to spark plug. Operator can visually view the spark generated and measure the coil output voltage using oscilloscope.

Pressure and temperature of the air flow in to the engine is measured by piezo resistive sensor and thermistor respectively. A testing machine has been designed to test both pressure sensor and temperature sensor separately. Pressure developed inside the engine cylinder is absolute, so a vacuum pump is used for generating absolute pressure and the built in pressure controller controls the pressure as per the set point. On stabilization, the peizo resistive sensor output voltage is measured by the electronic unit. User can enter ten set pressure values where the sensor output voltage to be checked.
For thermistor test, a test chamber where the sensor is inserted and it is heated with a heater assembly controlled by Omron temperature controller. The electronic control unit will communicate with the temperature controller to set the temperature set point and to measure the actual temperature. Once the set temperature is reached and stabilized, electronic unit measures the resistance of thermistor. User can set ten temperature values as set point to study the characteristics of temperature sensor. Both systems can communicate with PC to store the result in PC.

Pulsar coil used for generating pulse signal to ignition circuit in vehicles. Positive and negative terminal of the coil should be connected to the ignition circuit. If it is connected in reverse, engine performance will be retarded. This instrument is to test whether the connection of positive and negative terminals is given properly without any reverse connection. It checks the pulse duration between the positive and negative pulses and compare with required design duration. When the terminal gets reversed, the duration changes and instrument gives not ok signal.
